Junnel Gemida, son of Tatay Juanito Reyes proudly praised his dad for being able to send him in college and made him reach his goals.
Tatay Juanito Reyes, 51, goes around town to pick up scraps from trash and sells it to junkshops to make money for his son's needs. Junnel is proud to his dad's hardwork and although some people will belittle his father's job, Junnel still stands with his dad.
As he finally graduates from college, Junel honored his father's sacrifices and shared it to Facebook.
"Flex ko lang tatay ko kahit basurero siya napagraduate niya ako," he captioned.
(Let me flex my dad, even he's a garbage man he was able to finish my college.)
Netizens loved their story and praised both of them for being successful in their own field. Junnel for finishing his college, and Tatay Juanito for making this happen.
It's been more than 13 years that Tatay is doing his work. It is not an easy job to go after trash after trash just to earn some money and being able to send his two children to school. According to him, this wasn't his first job. He used to be a family driver but his eyesight would soon fail him. There are times that he needed to stop the car because he no longer see the vehicles, it cause him to quit the job.
Losing his job, he needed to became a scavenger to support his family because there's nobody can support them but him. Despite of all the hardtimes in their life, Tatay Juanito and Junnel made an honor to each other for proving themselves that they can succeed both ways.
Their family story inspired many and even got featured in a famous network show.
