Many fans and followers were ecstatic last week after the Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz had allegedly put an end to his two year break from showbiz. The rumors of his come back surfaced when screenshots of his upcoming film circulated online. There is also the trailer of the movie where in the 36 year old actor was shown on its final remaining seconds.
It cannot be denied that a lot of people has longed for John Lloyd's return in acting ever since his hiatus back in 2017.
His recent cameo made netizens speculate it is indeed a new start of his career for the premier actor.



Cruz later then made a statement to clarify a few things on his speculated return to the big screen. According to the article published by ABS-CBN’s ANCX, John Lloyd said in a text message that his appearance would more of a cameo or minor role. He also shared that his insertion into the "Culion" trailer was not in their original agreement.



“I thought including me in the teaser was preemptive. It was the opposite of what I actually requested and agreed on,”
“But as much as I am drawn to the idea of letting my work, of any kind, have its own life and take its own course in terms of output (unmindful of how it mutates, grows and sometimes gets diminished) I am also wary of misleading an audience,"

"That wouldn’t be fair. Hence, I felt compelled to clarify my participation in the film.”
Culion is set in the once famous secluded colony for people with of leprosy the same name. Aside from John Lloyd, th movie stars Iza Calzado, Meryl Soriano and Jasmine Curtis-Smith. The film is currently vying a spot to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
